Riikka has over a decade of research experience from the field of sustainable real estate, coupled with over 5 years in the industry. Motivated by the substantial environmental impact of the built environment, Riikka is passionate about bringing research into practice. Recently, she has studied adaptability, modularity and co-location, all of which hold potential for making real estate more sustainable. She is the Project Lead for the research project SHare, Optimize, Reimagine – reframing circular economy for the real estate and construction industry (SHORE).
Riikka has experience with undergraduate and graduate level teaching as well as supervision in topics related to Sustainability and Real Estate Management. Her studies in Higher Education pedagogy have sparked an interest to try out different student-centered methods in Real Estate teaching, and has recently published on the topic:

Riikka is the Editor-in-Chief of the Nordic Journal of Surveying and Real Estate Research (NJSR). NJSR is a scientific peer-reviewed journal committed to promoting Open Access built environment research in the Nordics.
